Abstract

The purpose of this classroom research was to develop a Programmed Instruction _ Laboratory (PI_Lab) for assisting the undergraduate students of International College, Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University to learn general education course ISM 1102 Creative Thinking and Decision Making on the topic “ Data Analysis”. The samples in this study were 35 first year students who registered this course in semester 1/2010 by cluster sampling. The experiment was conducted as the following objectives: 1) To test the efficiency of PI_Lab lessons based on the criterion 90 / 90; 2) To determine the student’s achievement gained from studying PI_Lab by using t-test; and 3) To assess the student’s knowledge retention after the end of studying PI_Lab in one week (7 days) and one month (30 days) by using the retention value between seventy five percents and ninety percents. The results of this research study have found that the PI_Lab had efficiency 90.3 / 91.4 attaining above 90 / 90 criterion. The student’s learning achievement was significant at a = 0.05 and the students had knowledge retention between 84.36 % and 89.9 %
